The College checks in from Alexandria, Egypt

May 8, 2017

By invitation from the President of the Egyptian Society of Allergy, Professor Samir Khedr, two College members participated in the 52nd International Congress of Allergy & Immunology in Alexandria, Egypt. Amal Assa’ad, MD, FACAAI, and Sami Bahna, MD, DrPH, FACAAI, volunteered to participate in the meeting at their own expense, the College was well-acknowledged in the program brochure, meeting banners, and verbally from the podium. There were four other U.S. speakers who participated on the program and both the Egyptian and American flags were displayed on the stage.

Dr. Assa’ad’s presentations were on “Hereditary Angioedema in Pediatrics” and “Eosinophilic Disorders”.  Dr. Bahna’s were on “Respiratory Manifestations of Food Allergy”, and “The Importance of Checking Serum Total IgE Level in Allergy Practice.” Many members of the Egyptian Society of Allergy are College members and usually several attend the College’s Annual Scientific Meeting. Those who were not College members were invited to join and to attend the 2017 Annual Meeting in Boston.
